Current state - mostly R&D and design.
Current goal - best looking character rendering with softbody breasts physics.
I don't plan a game in any observable future, in my mind it should be a sandbox poser with interactive characters (not static posing). Did you see Clumsy Ninja Gameplay?
Q. Why not use Unity or Unreal Engine?
This question always sounds reasonable but in my case:
- I need advanced softbody physics for breasts;
- advanced hair rendering with physics
- clothes simulation
- Possibility to learn;)
So I need engine specially tooled for these tasks. Hence my engine will be small and simple compared with generalized (suitable for any kind of games) Unity or Unreal Engine. But it will do these tasks well.
Also I need open source engine to be able to fix bugs and add features.
Q. Creating a new engine is a huge task
Yes, that's true. But it's not impossible. At this moment 1.33 Mbytes in 272 files of source code has been written. Again: goals of this development don't need software giant like UE or Unity. We can keep it simple but still powerful for listed features.
There are some R&D areas in this project such as softbody, hair rendering, Poser file format, tools programing, scripting, rendering, etc.That's why I'm looking for people to collaborate with.
Q. Creating models or animation.
All assets will be "borrowed" from Internet and games despite their licensing. Torrentz and warez are welcome.
Did you see Poser/DAZ models?

There are a lot of them on torrents. Currently I'm trying to understand its format to be able to grab them automatically.
